DESCRIPTIONS OF PRESENTATIONS:
The Case For Hand Counting – Susan Chipman
Mrs. Chipman will briefly lay out why hand-counted paper ballots are not only lawful in Alabama, but essential for restoring trust in our elections. Attendees will learn how President Trump’s executive order, the EAC’s outdated 2005 machine standards, and Alabama’s own statutes all support the right to conduct transparent hand counts—and why it’s an insult to Americans to suggest we can’t count our own votes accurately. Backed by global examples and real cost comparisons, this short session makes a clear, compelling case for returning to a simple, reliable, and citizen-controlled voting process.
Inside Hand Counting – Bob Retsch
Mr. Retsch will explain how and why hand counting is a proven and viable method to tally election results. He’ll provide examples of first world countries like France, Germany, the Netherlands and others that implement hand counting techniques. He’ll give a brief overview of how hand counting actually works—from ballot check-in and secure box rotation to bipartisan counting teams, dual tally sheets, and publicly verifiable results. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of how and why hand-counted paper ballots offer transparency, accuracy, and cost savings compared to machines. This presentation demystifies the process and shows how Alabama can prepare, train, and deploy effective hand-count teams for 2026.
Filling In The Gaps – Suzanne Kohler
Mrs. Kohler will give a brief recap of the previous two hand-counting presentations, hitting the main highlights and clarifying any remaining questions. This quick summary ensures everyone is aligned before the hands-on training begins.
Revealing Election Data in AL – Dr Frank
Dr. Frank will reveal what forensic computer science exposes inside voter rolls—patterns, anomalies, and statistical red flags that indicate the presence of phantom voters and system vulnerabilities. He will walk attendees through real data examples showing how these irregularities are detected, why they matter, and how they point to weaknesses that can be exploited or manipulated. This session will give citizens a clear understanding of why voter-roll integrity is critical and offer suggestions to help identify and correct these flaws before 2026.
The Truth About Sex Ed – Beth Pruitt
Mrs. Pruitt will explain why Alabama’s outdated sex education law needs reform and she’ll contrast what a healthy, research-based program should look like compared to what many schools are currently using. Attendees will learn the most common talking points used by the other-side to oppose improvements to sex education and the facts that debunk those myths. This session equips parents and citizens with clear, truthful information to support stronger protections for children.
Abortion By Mail – Caitlin Conners
Mrs. Conners will discuss how abortion pills are currently obtained through the mail and routed into Alabama—often through online pharmacies, out-of-state providers, and international distributors that circumvent state safeguards. Attendees will learn the medical and safety risks these unregulated pills pose to women, along with the growing public-health concerns linked to unsupervised chemical abortions. The presentation will also outline the 2026 legislative proposal designed to stop these dangerous drugs from reaching Alabama mothers and strengthen protections for women and unborn children.
Sports Betting & The Lottery Reality Check – Les Bernal
Mr. Bernal will expose the explosive rise of online sports betting—especially among teenagers—and reveal just how widespread and dangerous this hidden addiction has become. Parents and grandparents will learn why the “they’re doing it anyway” argument is deeply flawed, and why expanding gambling would create far more harm than revenue for Alabama. The session will also debunk myths about state lotteries by showing how they consistently fail to deliver promised income and will highlight new threats like lottery courier services that further erode consumer protections.
The New AL Hemp & THC Rules – Katherine Robertson
Mrs. Robertson will give an overview of HB 445 — Alabama’s new law regulating hemp-derived THC products. We’ll explore how intoxicating hemp/THC items are currently unregulated and available everywhere, the public-safety threats they pose, and how this legislation aims to reduce product availability and potency levels. Major regulatory changes—including strict packaging, testing and licensing standards—will be explained, so you’ll understand what’s already in effect and what will begin enforcement in 2026. The session also explains how federal action to close the 2018 Farm Bill loophole intersects with Alabama’s reforms—and what could still change at the federal level in the year ahead.
Hand Count Training using Linda Rantz Method – Iva Hendon
This “express” (shortened) training session provides a clear, practical walkthrough of how hand counting actually works using the Linda Rantz method. Attendees will learn the hand count process including going through scenarios and learning how to use actual tally sheets.
