SUMMARY:Field Trip to the American Village (Montevallo)
DESCRIPTION:EFA leaders and friends will spend the day at American Village reliving our exciting American History!  We will start the day with the Independence Hall Experience. This state-of-the-art\, interactive experience uses cutting-edge technology and special effects to fully immerse visitors in the fight for independence. This docent-led experience begins in the West Wing of Independence Hall\, where the tension of colonial unrest builds\, and an original short film brings the chaos of revolution to life. Then\, step into a one-of-a-kind encounter where voices from all walks of life passionately share their views on independence—in a way you’ve never seen before\, but we won’t spoil the surprise. Finally\, take your seat with the 2nd Continental Congress and find yourself right in the middle of the heated debate that would shape a new nation.\nAfter that main event you can experience all of the other programs offered that day as well as visiting the 3 museums on site. American Village closes at 4:00PM.\nWe will have a picnic-style lunch. You are invited to purchase a box lunch with your ticket\, or you are welcome to bring your own sack lunch.\nNOTE: Due to the length and format of the Independence Hall Experience\, we ask that children be at least 10 years old to attend.\n\nSCHEDULE:\n9:30AM Check in\n9:55AM Group pic in front of Independence Hall\n10:00-11:30AM Independence Hall Experience\n11:45ish-Lunch on the grounds\nAfternoon: Tour American Village at your leisure.
