Last week, a coalition of Alabama organizations sent formal letters to both the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office and the Alabama Attorney General requesting a review and investigation into possible campaign finance violations connected to gambling-related PAC money flowing into Alabama elections.

The coalition requested a response within 10 days. We have now received a response from the Secretary of State’s Office acknowledging receipt of the concerns and outlining the office’s role regarding election law enforcement and referrals for potential criminal investigations.
