Christine Carr, CRNA, Bham will be the speaker for this Huntsville Eagle Forum Action Group meeting.
Alabama “Compassion Act” signed into law in 2021 allowing medical cannabis is “a badly written and poorly designed bill”, with “preference for the Marijuana Industry, not patients.”
There are at least 17 medical organizations against “Medical” Marijuana.
Christine Carr, associated with Drug Free Alabama, will show us the extensive data on Marijuana’s adverse impact on the preborn, teenager, and long-term adult users. In Colorado, marijuana is the number one drug for COMPLETED teen suicide. Marijuana use can result in psychoses, violent psychotic schizophrenia. “The environmental impacts of cannabis grow sites prove to be destructive and expensive.”
There are four FDA approved drugs developed from cannabis. However, “The use of marijuana dispensaries (pot shops) has no scientific or evidenced based support for medical treatment, effective pain management, or mental health.”
Be aware of the Marijuana industry’s unrelenting push to total legalization.
Fortunately, there was an amendment in the 2021 law to allow local municipalities to be automatically opted-out. Perhaps not fully understanding the devastating impact the industry will have on the community, many towns have applied to opt-in.
Be informed and be an “integral part of stopping the proliferation of Marijuana Dispensaries in Alabama.”
