Out of Luck: Where Does the Lottery Money Go? (West Shelby County) –

January 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

The 2025 Legislative session will start on February 4, 2025.  As is the case most every year, there will likely be another push to legalize gambling.  A Constitutional amendment must be passed to remove the ban on Class 3 gambling to provide for a lottery. Such a change will also apply to other forms of gambling, such as casino and online gambling which likely would soon follow.

Out of Luck–Where Does the Money Go? This video documentary answers this question by looking at the impact of lottery addiction on people and how it ruins lives and families.  It also covers the state involvement in preying on its citizens to increase revenue. Lotteries prey heavily on poor citizens much more than others. Government’s job is to protect its citizens, not exploit them.

Join us to learn more about this important issue as we continue to work to prevent gambling from hurting both the citizens and the government of Alabama.
