The Right To Worship: What Our Founders Intended
“Congress shall make no laws respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”
When churches were forced to close due to COVID-19 state and federal restrictions, the right to worship was infringed. Lawsuits were filed. Settlements occurred. Freedom of religion is closely associated with separation of church and state, a concept advocated by colonial founders such as Dr. John Clarke, Roger Williams, William Penn, and later Founding Fathers such as James Madison and Thomas Jefferson.
Guest Speaker: Highly sought, Professor Robert McFarland, Associate Professor of Law and Director of Advocacy Programs at Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law will speak on the Founding Fathers’ understanding of Separation of Church and State.
Dining room opens at 5:00 Program begins at 6:00.
