While the items below are Eagle Forum of AL’s current 2024 legislative “priorities”, they are not a complete list of bills we will be supporting or opposing.

WOMEN’S BILL OF RIGHTS (Rep. Dubose)
This bill defines a woman based upon the biological definition and ensures that women’s private spaces like locker rooms, bathrooms, shelters, etc. are reserved for biological women.

CHILDREN’S DEVICE PROTECTION ACT (Rep. Sells)
This bill helps prevent accidental exposure to pornography on cell phones and tablets. When a minor’s cell phone/tablet is activated in AL the pornography filter automatically toggles to “on”.

HARMFUL TO MINORS (Rep. Mooney)
This bill updates the current law regarding sexually explicit material and activities where minors are present.

UNIVERSAL SCHOOL CHOICE
We support universal school choice programs that use parents’ tax dollars to empower parents to educate their children according to their values while also protecting the autonomy of homeschool and private school students.

TRANSPARENCY IN EDUCATION
This legislation empowers parents to review curricula and resources used in their child’s classrooms and allows them to choose whether their child should participate in certain lessons that go against the parent’s values.

BANNING CRT/DEI FROM K-12 & GOV’T AGENCIES
(Sen. Barfoot / Rep. DuBose)
Tenants of Critical Race Theory and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion breed racism and divide us as Americans.

AMENDING AL TEXBOOK LAW AND THE ABSTINENCE ACT
To ensure transparency citizens need more time to review and make public comments on textbooks before the SBOE votes to approve. Updates to the AL Abstinence Act are necessary to ensure students are protected from obscene materials used in sexual health classes.

BAN DEBANKING Debanking is the process whereby a bank can close or freeze customer accounts because they disagree with the customer’s political or moral viewpoint. This is un-American. We support legislation that will ban banks from this activity.

GOLD & SILVER AS LEGAL TENDER (Rep. Mooney)
The U.S. Constitution provides for states to use gold & silver as legal tender. This method can be used to protect Alabamians from inflation, federal control and the Great Reset while preserving personal liberty and privacy.

KEEP GAMBLING OUT OF ALABAMA
Gambling preys on the poor, increases citizens’ reliance on welfare and Medicaid and ultimately harms children and families; therefore, we oppose all efforts to legalize gambling in Alabama.

SUPPORT DEFUNDING THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION
The WHO is transitioning from an advisory agency to an international governing body. Federal legislation can stop this by defunding the WHO. This resolution will show our AL federal delegation that our legislature supports defunding the WHO.
