CORRECTION: Kids Under 19 MUST Have Parental Consent For C0VID Shot

In my earlier post explaining SB15, I indicated that children from ages 14-19 would not be protected from being given a COVID shot without parental consent or from schools being able to ask about vax status. Currently a minor in Alabama is anyone under the age of 19. However, the general age for consent for healthcare in Alabama is 14.

SB15 DOES PROVIDE PROTECTION FOR UNDER 19

SB15 modifies existing law. So now, children up to the age of 19 must have parental consent before receiving a COVID shot. Institutions of education must get parental consent before inquiring about a student’s vax status. This is a protection that was not there previously. SB15 WAS HELPFUL IN THIS MATTER.

Please accept my deepest apology for misreporting. It was not done on purpose or with any malice. It was an honest mistake.
