Just a few minutes ago, the Alabama 2024 legislative session ended, “Sine Die”! Whew…what a crazy session.  Below are our original “priority” bills for the 2024 legislative session. We indicated whether they passed, failed or never were introduced.  There were many other bills that we watched and supported/opposed during the session. The results of those bills and a longer update on those will be sent out soon. 

The biggest success was that, with your help, we were able to stop the expansion of predatory gambling in Alabama!  Today there was a “Hail Mary” pass thrown at the last minute to resurrect gambling, but in the end it was stopped. Unfortunately, the combination of Senate Democrat filibusters and that gambling “Hail Mary” move, all of the air was sucked out of the room and 3 of our priority bills never even received a vote.
