Week 4: Trust in Elections Requires Verification

Week 4 (Feb 3-5)

Victory! App Store Bill Passes!

THANK YOU Rep. Sells & Sen. Chambliss!

We are thrilled to see HB161 pass both chambers! Sponsored by Rep. Sells/Sen Chambliss, this bill strengthens age verification and parental consent requirements in app stores and puts parents back in the driver’s seat. HB161 does not ban apps or dictate parenting choices; it simply restores basic consumer protections and reinforces parental authority in the digital marketplace. This is a smart, commonsense win for families and children.

HB67 Lowers Voter Roll Cost But Bans Use By Voter Integrity Orgs

HB67 lowers the cost of accessing Alabama’s voter rolls, a welcome reform, but it also quietly bans voter verification and public research by restricting how the data may be used. While political campaigns remain exempt, independent organizations that check accuracy, identify errors, and publish findings would be shut out entirely. Transparency without verification isn’t transparency at all.  Click to read our concern and why HB67 must be amended before moving forward.
